CM Macacua names Bayam as BARMM interior minister

(Photo courtesy of SCT) COTABATO CITY—Bangsamoro region has a new interior minister after Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua administered the oath of office on Monday, April 6, to Jordan Bayam. Bayam will head the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG), leading efforts to improve the delivery of basic services and oversee the implementation of local government policies. His mandate includes ensuring these initiatives align with the administration’s “Mas Matatag na Bangsamoro” agenda. Before his appointment, Bayam served as executive director of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) under the Bangsamoro Transformation Cluster. His stint at OPAPRU, along with his experience in public administration and the peace process, is expected to bolster ongoing efforts to strengthen local governance and promote sustainable development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
